Patient Security in the Hospital Environment – Workshop

Dr. Omar AIMER

Pharmacist, former assistant professor of pharmacology at the University of Oran, head of the LNCPP’s Oran Annex and attached to Paris Hospitals, Omar is currently a consultant specialized in industrial pharmacovigilance in Canada.

Omar is also a speaker and moderator at various events and conferences across Europe and North America, and author of articles on the future and impact of Artificial Intelligence in the field of patient safety.

He is also a mentor to McGill University students in the pharmaceutical industry.

Description of the training

A) WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE WORKSHOP:

All hospital and teaching-hospital practitioners who wish to deepen their knowledge of drug and biological management including risk management, pharmacovigilance, quality and compliance, to strengthen the doctor-patient trust relationship.

B) OBJECTIVES FOR PARTICIPANTS:

  • Acquire the basics of the new Algerian regulatory and international guidelines (Food and Drug Administration, European Medicine Agency, Health Canada) on patient safety
  • Master the necessary tools for the establishment of an effective system to ensure patient safety in a hospital environment. Quality Management System and CAPA System (declaration of adverse events and corrective action + preventive actions)

C) CONTENT:

  • State of the new Algerian and international regulations (FDA, EMA, Health Canada, Saudi Food and Drug Authority…)
  • Pharmaco-Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM)
  • Vaccinovigilance, hemovigilance and materiovigilance
  • Data management in pharmacovigilance
  • Workshop with Quiz: example of the Canadian model and practical cases.
  • General notions
  • Regulation
  • Data managment
  • A 3-hour module with a coffee break
  • A 1-hour workshop with questions and answers
